Unlock the Power of Mentorship

How do you build a mentoring program for a national community with diverse disability-related access needs, while keeping it practical for a small internal team to run?

That was the challenge WWDA set out to solve. In partnership with Brancher, the organisation launched an online-first mentoring model that combined values-based matching, shared lived experience and accessibility features such as screen reader compatibility, Easy Read content and captioned sessions.

Over two years, the program matched around 60 pairs, supported leadership and self-advocacy development, and was later showcased at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
